Reflections
The power of song or poetry lies in its ability to encapsulate both our grief and our hope.
Here lies an invitation to remember, confront, and transform—a journey from acknowledging
the ugly to celebrating the good, a cycle that humanity must continue for a true reckoning.

Battle Cry: A Call to the Streets
Step into the streets where the shadows weight,
Where justice is promised but rarely takes shape.
They say, ‘Serve and protect,’ but what’s the cost?
Black bodies stopped, searched, and tossed.
A knee in the chest, another name lost—
You feel that? That’s the weight of the cross.
Them nurses? Yeah, they’re breaking their backs,
For little pay, no praise, just panic attacks.
Abuse on the wards, their dignity worn thin,
But still, they rise, with healing within.
And that baby-mother? No judgment here,
Behind her sheen, there’s courage and tears.
A strength unseen, a story untold,
A crown of thorns wrapped in her fold.
(Refrain)
Wakey wakey! Reveille!
See them, feel them, hear the plea.
No wait on God; the call is clear—
Jesus already placed you here.
To the least of these, your hands must reach,
The gospel's alive in what you preach.
On the corner, there’s a boy with a shattered dream,
Pinned down by a system that’s bursting at the seams.
They call it justice, but the scale’s been tipped,
And mercy’s a word that’s often skipped.
The hungry are waiting; the cold need care,
But we walk on by like we’re unaware.
The King’s in disguise, in their faces we see,
The cry of the oppressed: ‘Will you answer me?’
(Chant)
Feel it! The weight of the oppressed,
Hear it! The cry of the dispossessed.
See it! The world through Jesus' eyes,
Move it! Your faith where the action lies.
No time for delay, no time to stall,
The Kingdom is now; it’s a call for all!
(Refrain)
Wakey wakey! Reveille!
See them, feel them, hear the plea.
No wait on God; the call is clear—
Jesus already placed you here.
To the least of these, your hands must reach,
The gospel's alive in what you preach.
So, to the streets, to the wards, to the corners and cracks,
The Kingdom's advancing, no turning back.
Every act of love, every justice cry,
Is a seed of hope that will never die.
Rise up, church, the battle is near—
The King is calling; let’s make it clear.

Yo, Yahweh, You’re Everything
Yo, Yahweh, You blow my mind.
You’re the Creator, pulling stars out of nothing,
the One who speaks and worlds happen. Isaiah 40:12-5
Father, You’re the original, the blueprint.
You shaped the earth like it was clay,
taught the oceans where to stop,
and breathed life into dust. Isaiah 40:28; 45:12
Jesus, my Redeemer, You stepped in for me.
Took the hit, carried the weight I couldn’t lift,
and showed love that breaks chains.
You flipped the script on death. Isaiah 53:5; 61:1
Spirit, You’re the whisper in my chaos.
The guide when I’m lost,
the strength when I’m weak.
You light up dark corners,
remind me who I am. Isaiah 11:2; 30:21
Yahweh, You’re everything.
Power that doesn’t crush,
beauty that doesn’t fade,
love that doesn’t quit. Isaiah 6:3
This life is Yours.
Every breath, every step—
it all belongs to You.
Journey’s Reckoning
We’ve journeyed far, through shadow and light,
A winding path from wrong to right.
With echoes of cries, both near and past,
It’s time to exorcise—at last.
The good stands clear, like mountains strong,
Truth, justice, woven through our song.
Love that lifts, arms that embrace,
The common ground, the sacred space.
Yet the bad still hums, a subtle strain,
In whispered words and hidden pain.
Old wounds festering, left to scar,
Ghosts of who we were and are.
And the ugly, raw and starkly plain—
History's stain, a deep-set chain.
Hate that thrived in hollow cheers,
We confront it now, shed ancient fears.
Let us rip through silence, cast off shame,
And shape a world beyond the blame. I’ll
Together, we’ll sing—of joy, of rue,
Of dreams reborn, and truth anew.
Micah 6:8; Isa 1:17; Amos 5:2;
Ps 51:10; Mat 5:9; 2Cor5:17-19;
Jam 2:13

Restless
The Spirit of the Lord is upon us,
Anointed for the broken and the poor.
To proclaim freedom, to open eyes,
To set the captives free, and break down every door.
Chorus
Oh, let us be restless for the kingdom,
Till every hungry heart has bread.
We’ll pray, we’ll move, we’ll speak the truth,
In love and justice where we’re led.
Oh, let us be restless for the kingdom,
Until God’s peace and grace have spread.
Faith without works, it stands empty,
A seed that’s lost, a light turned low.
But as we rise for truth and mercy,
God’s kingdom comes in hearts aglow.
Chorus
We’ll agitate the halls of power,
We’ll stir the conscience of the strong.
We’ll lift the weak, we’ll mend the broken,
For in God’s strength, we all belong.
Bridge
Lord, keep us humble, keep us willing,
To serve with open hands and hearts.
As we labor, may Your Spirit guide us,
Till every life finds a fresh start.
Chorus
Yes, restless, Lord, until all know You,
Till every soul is healed and free.
Oh, restless for Your mission, Jesus,
Till Your love flows like a mighty sea.
Mat 28:18b-20; Luke 4:18-19;
James 2:14-19
